Valartin Pharma acted as one of the partners of the scientific and practical congress “Respiratory and Non-Respiratory Allergic Diseases: Challenges in Diagnosis and Treatment” within the project “EXPERT VERSION – New Edition. Treatment of Respiratory Diseases at the Peak of the Allergy Season”, which took place on 3 September 2026 in an online format.
The event was held as part of the All-Ukrainian educational project “Life Without Allergies” and brought together more than 3,000 doctors of various specialties from all over Ukraine. The discussion of the management of patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis was particularly relevant for the participants, as the conference took place at the height of the ragweed flowering season.
Special attention was drawn to the presentation by Inna Volodymyrivna Hohunska, Doctor of Medical Sciences, leading researcher at the Centre for Allergic Diseases of the Upper Respiratory Tract of the State Institution “O.S. Kolomiychenko Institute of Otolaryngology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”, on the topic “Pharmacological and Non-Pharmacological Management of Allergic Rhinitis”.

In her presentation, Inna Volodymyrivna emphasised the important role of irrigation therapy as a component of the comprehensive management of patients with allergic rhinitis. Cleansing the nasal mucosa of allergens and maintaining its physiological state are important components of the non-pharmacological management of the disease.
In this context, a nasal spray based on sea water, hyaluronic acid and D-panthenol was presented. The combination of these components helps to cleanse and moisturise the nasal mucosa, supports its natural recovery mechanisms and can be used as part of elimination therapy.
Nasomer® is a nasal spray manufactured in Germany that, thanks to its balanced composition, supports the physiological state of the nasal mucosa. As part of a comprehensive approach to the management of allergic rhinitis, Nasomer® can help reduce contact of the mucosa with allergens and support its protective functions.
Particular attention in the presentation was given to mometasone furoate — an intranasal glucocorticosteroid widely used to control the symptoms of allergic rhinitis in accordance with current clinical guidelines. Due to its local anti-inflammatory action, mometasone helps reduce mucosal swelling and control the main symptoms of the disease, including nasal congestion, sneezing, itching and rhinorrhoea.
Among the medicinal products based on mometasone available on the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market is Metaspray® from Valartin Pharma, manufactured from high-quality Italian raw materials. A 140-dose bottle provides ease of use and can be a practical solution for long-term therapy of allergic rhinitis.

Recurrent pharyngotonsillitis was one of the important topics discussed during the event. It was the focus of the presentation by Iryna Stanislavivna Zarytska, Candidate of Medical Sciences.
In her presentation, Iryna Stanislavivna presented current research findings on the use of the pharyngeal paraprobiotic Lactobacillus helveticus MIMLh5 in patients with recurrent forms of pharyngotonsillitis. According to the studies presented, the use of paraprobiotic lozenges with Lactobacillus helveticus MIMLh5 was associated with a reduction in the frequency of recurrent throat and tonsil infections in children, a decreased need for antibiotic therapy and corticosteroids, and improved clinical outcomes. At the same time, no side effects associated with the use of the paraprobiotic were recorded within the studies presented.
Lactobacillus helveticus MIMLh5, as well as sodium hyaluronate and hedge mustard (Sisymbrium officinale), are part of Lactoangin®. The combination of components is aimed at supporting the physiological state of the oropharyngeal mucosa and can be considered as an additional agent in the comprehensive management of patients with recurrent pharyngotonsillitis, in particular to support the normal microbiocenosis of the oropharyngeal mucosa and reduce the frequency and duration of episodes of the disease and its exacerbations.
Valartin Pharma’s participation in the scientific and practical congress underscores the company’s commitment to supporting the professional medical community and promoting the introduction of modern scientific approaches into daily clinical practice.
Valartin Pharma will continue to support scientific and educational initiatives aimed at implementing the principles of evidence-based medicine, enhancing the clinical competence of doctors and developing interdisciplinary cooperation within the medical community of Ukraine.
